Procida Part IV

December 2, 2016 Procida, 80079 Procida, Metropolitan City of Naples, Italy

After having our lunch, A and I strolled around some more to walk off all the seafood we ate. We went to the other side of the island to explore some more. We found another spot to see another perspective of the island. We got to see the ex-prison building that we explored before lunch.

We also found orange trees on one of the streets that we explored. Too bad they weren't ready for picking yet. I may or may not have stolen one if it was ripe ;)

We walked back to the marina to wait for the next boat to Naples. I got another cup of gelato while waiting and we watched the fishermen coming back from the sea. They had a lot of different types of fish and seafood in big containers with them. No wonder a lot of cats inhibit the island. They probably get a bountiful of fish to eat every day.

When we boarded the boat back to Naples, we still stayed on the top deck to watch the sunset. It was getting cold but I wanted to stay there to reflect.

Even if I post all the pretty pictures and places I explore, please know that life is never perfect. That we all have our own struggles and pain. It's not always peachy in life.

I always try to be positive and upbeat here but life is full of high's and low's. And even in my travels it still applies. I don't get a free pass from being sad just because I'm in another country on vacation.

As I get older and older, I am becoming more thankful for the good things in my life. For all trips that I'm lucky enough to take. For my health and for the people that I love. I can only hope that I can be a positive influence in the people around me and the people I meet or interact with here. I know that we are immortal and the short amount of time that we have should be enjoyed to the fullest.

  1. There is nothing better than travel blog posts, especially when I am sat here on the sofa in the warm - There is just something cozy about armchair travelling in winter from your own home for a few minutes. Such lovely photos I am just so in love with the multi-colored buildings in Prodcida and all of that vegetation on the street!

  5. I've always wondered about public fruit trees, like the oranges they also have in Spain. Do people just casually pick and eat them? Beautiful shots, as always!

    1. I'm not so sure but I stole one orange in Spain before. I don't think anyone cared.

  8. Such a lovely place. I can totally relate to your last paragraphs. As I get older I try to travel more frequently as there's so much of the world I want to see..and I want to be able to see everywhere while I still can.

  12. Lovely, the sun peaking through the clouds is just stunning. I've never been to Italy, but hope to make it that way sooner rather than later
