On our second visit to La Crucecita town, we had chicken for lunch. We had a whole pollo asado (roast chicken) to share. It also came with sides and we got rice and coleslaw. And of course tortillas! It was delicious! and too much for two people but we took it to go and had it as a snack when we got back to our resort.
Las Brisas Huatulco
April 8, 2015
During our vacation in Mexico, we stayed in Las Brisas Huatulco resort. The resort has 4 different towns: the mountains (where we stayed), the stars, the clouds, and the sea. Each town has a different colour water tower in order to be easily identified (very helpful especially at night). It felt like we had our own little village within the resort.
The resort is expansive so be prepared to walk and climb stairs during your stay (but there is a shuttle in case you require it). The mountain rooms is the closest to the main reception and main restaurants. It was walking distance compared to the sea town. I didn't mind all the walking/stair climbing we did at the resort because it burned all the calories from eating too much. I had the best workout that week!
The resort has 3 beach areas as well as two pools. 2 main restaurants for breakfast, plenty of a la carte restaurants, and a snack bar.You will never go hungry!

Shopping at La Crucecita, Mexico
April 5, 2015
I enjoy shopping when I'm abroad. I usually do a quick google before I leave to find out what I should buy in each particular destination. My sister's already told me to buy them vanilla as a souvenir gift in Mexico.
On our first trip to La Crucecita, we walked around the town and got a feel on where to shop and mentally noted down prices from different stores. I love supporting local vendors and I'm trying to buy more practical items as a souvenir and not another key chain.
I loved the market and that's where we mainly shopped. I also went to the grocery store to browse each aisle for things I could buy that we don't have in Toronto. I found a special hot sauce for a friend of mine and lots of coffee that I could buy as souvenir.
I ended up buying vanilla (liquid and pod), mezcal, chocolates, coffee, and blankets.
I always recommend taking a lap around the market and asking for prices before you start purchasing. Being a tourist has it's pitfalls and it's sometimes having to pay a WHOLE lot more when you shop but it never hurts to bargain. Always have small change and of course cash is key.

Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe
April 2, 2015
Since, it's Easter this weekend, I thought this would be an appropriate post to share with you. I hope you will have a fantastic Easter long weekend!!
The Catholic in me can't resist visiting a church when I'm abroad. I am curious about the church interiors and I can't help but to say a small prayer when I enter a church.

Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe is famous for the 20 meter tall image of the Virgin of Guadalupe. I tried to capture the mural as best as I could and fit it all in the frame. The church is located in the center of the town so you can't miss it.
We passed by the church on a Sunday and it was full (of course!) so we waited after our second visit to go inside the church. I didn't want to take photos while a mass was being held. This time, the church was empty so I could take as much photos as I could.
