Tokyo 2.0

November 4, 2016 Tokyo, Japan

I went back to Japan for the second time in February of this year. It was winter so it was a much different experience from my Autumn trip two years ago.
This time, I was less aggressive about finding all the tourists sites and took it easy. I was also not 100% feeling great.

Being sick forced me to slow down my trip and do minimal activities. It forced me to walk around in our neighborhood and observe the daily life in Tokyo.

It was very interesting to see how everyone goes about their daily routine. It's pretty much the same as Toronto.

We walked around a park and saw all the little kids with their Mom's. I noticed that they don't use strollers like we do here. Most kids were walking or on their baby carriers. I love that! Great for exercise!

And at night, it's just like any normal neighborhood. People are coming home from a long day at work to their families.

  4. I just went to Tokyo too last April and I tried to visit all tourist spots. It's exhausting, the good kind of exhaustion though. If I go back again soon, I'll be less aggressive too like what you did, just observing, taking photos and no rushing. :) I hope you still enjoyed your trip despite being sick.

    1. When it's your first time, you can go crazy doing everything but once you go there again, you will feel less stressed and just go with the flow.

I still had fun even when I was sick. Just ate a lot na lang ;)

  5. I've never been to Tokyo but from what I've heard I should really go there one day. And I agree that it's nice to see the more everyday life that people live whenever you visit a city. It tend to get very "touristic" at some places. I like to discover the more local spots whenever I travel :)

  7. Beautiful photos! I visited Tokyo once in 2009 and don't remember much. I'd like to return again someday.
That's too bad you weren't feeling great but walking around aimlessly exploring is fun as well!
