Prince Edward County - Sandbanks

September 11, 2012

I really needed a long weekend break before the September season so I was on hunt to go somewhere relaxing but not too far away since it's only for 3 days. I debated crossing the border for the long weekend but everything worth going to was at least 6-8 hours away and going to the U.S. on a 3 day weekend was going to be a nightmare at the borders.

One of my sisters suggested going to Prince Edward County. It's only 2.5 hours drive from Toronto. PEC has a lot of wineries and provincial parks. When I heard those two words, I was sold!
One of the main attractions at PEC is Sandbanks Provincial park. It's a great place to swim, tan, and just relax. You have to pay $16 per vehicle for day use.  Just make sure to pack lunch and drinks.
The park also offers camping sites which I cannot wait to book for next year. I just hope we get the same weather next year.

  1. Yay for getting away to such a beautiful place! You always seem to find somewhere new to explore even when you dont go that far away. Truly such an adventurous, travel bug spirit!

  2. I've always wanted to go to PEI. I feel like these might be the prettiest pictures I've ever seen of the province.
