What I ate: Okonomiyaki

July 30, 2015

I have never had okonomiyaki before and I had it on my list to eat for my Japan trip. My lovely friend Keiko took us to a restaurant in Osaka to try it. I was ecstatic!

The restaurant was along the Dōtonbori canal. It had the perfect view for lunch. Okonomiyaki is like a pancake. You can have different varieties. We had meat, seafood, and veggie okonomiyaki. It even comes in different shapes - you can order a heart shaped one!

Our server cooked our okonomiyaki for us. He was amazing! and even used the magic mayo to draw characters and write to us in Japanese. Talk about service!

We capped off our lunch with ice-cream of course ;)

Nara Part II

July 24, 2015

After visiting Todai-ji temple, we continued to walk around and stumbled upon more temples. We were trying to get away from the mob of school children.

We went to quieter temples. We took our time walking through the parks and temples. It was perfectly quiet and we saw only a few tourists. It was perfect! We even saw baby deers roaming around the park.

Wishing you all a great weekend!

Summer update

July 17, 2015

Summer is here! and that means that I'm writing less and chasing the sun more. I apologize now for the lack of content here for a few weeks. I know that I want to make the most of summer before it's gone.

I had the busiest month in June at work. It was insane but thankfully it's now over and I got to take a week off the first week of July for some relaxation. I ended up in Cuba! Fourth visit now and probably not my last. It was fun! and it was my first time visiting in July so it was hotter! I thought I was going to melt into a puddle but thankfully the ocean and pool became my savior. It was pure relaxation. I didn't want to shop at the market or go on tours. I've been there before so I know I'm not missing anything by not going out of the resort. I just want to spend all my time at the beach or by the pool when it got to windy at the beach.

Our resort this time was massive! But thankfully, we upgraded our room and ended up at the Adult's only section of the resort. It was worth it!! We had our very own adult's only pool, restaurant, room service, and an adult's only section at the beach! and we can also use all of the other amenities and restaurants at the resort on top of that. Best decision ever!

I enjoyed eating seafood at the restaurants. It was heaven for me to eat a lot of fish and lobsters! It was just the best! and of course I had tons of ice-cream.

I hope you are all enjoying your summer! What are your plans this summer?
